Boxed Wooden Gavel Set Handmade Cedar of Lebanon & Yew

A very distinctive, totally unique, handmade, dovetail jointed, brass hinged boxed wooden gavel set in gorgeously grained Cedar of Lebanon wood with gavel and striking block in English Yew. The beauty of the grain in both the box and gavel is difficult to capture in a photo. The lid has beautiful quilting in the grain. The box is dovetail jointed, the lid is hinged with good quality brass butt hinges and closes with a brass clasp. Inside the box is the English Yew gavel and block. The gavel sits on a gavel rest. The box and base of the box inside and out and gavel block are all lined with wool baize. Only one and when it has gone it has gone for good!
Designed and handmade by me in Shropshire not mass produced. Each of my gavels is slightly different and unique, beautifully finished in beeswax so the natural beauty of the wood shines through. The gavel is stamped underneath with the Tommy Woodpecker Woodworks logo so that you know you have an original. An ideal very special presentation gift for Auctioneers, Judges, Toastmasters, the Chair and anyone who loves the unique natural quality, colours and grain of finely crafted wooden items. Size
The box is approximately 265mm or 10 and 3/8th inches long, 140mm or 5 and 1/2 inches wide and approx. 100 mm or 4 inches high. The gavel hammer is approximately 200mm long or 8 and inches end to end.
Care Instructions
Best kept out of direct sunlight. Dust and polish occasionally with beeswax to be rewarded with a deep shine.
Dispatch
All items are carefully packaged to ensure they reach you safely with labels and care instructions they are gift ready, dispatched 1st class post, courier or airmail. Overseas purchasers are responsible for paying for any duties that apply.
Personalise
There is an option to personalise this item with a polished, quality jeweller’s brass plaque on the outside or inside of the box lid or recessed into the centre of the striking block. The quality brass is hand polished. Please remember to leave additional time for this. Let me know the inscription required when you check out I will then advise on costs. The additional cost  varies depending on the complexity of the inscription from logos to lettering and the number of lines. Each one is quoted individually following purchase of the box. The plaque will then be mounted or recessed for you accordingly prior to dispatch plaques tend to range in price from £21-£45.
